This beautiful Maunga (mountain) Vase was handmade by the small team at Borrowed Earth - Adele and Richard- who honour their Māori, Pacific, and English heritage through their extraordinary work.
Each vase has been hand painted, then the sgraffito technique was used to create the pattern. The vase is then bisque fired and when the temperature has cooled, it’s then taken out of the kiln and a transparent glossy glaze goes over the top. It’s then fired again to around 1200 degrees.
